Flintstones Complete With Iron chewable vitamins for kids help support:*

Flintstones chewables are easy for kids to chew with great tasting flavors and fun character shapes.

Flintstones Vitamins ingredents

Flintstones Vitamins are a revolving door of synthetic ingredients: from synthetic vitamins to fillers. The ingredients may change, so here are some ingredients that I have noticed over the years.

Flintstones Vitamins Ingredients

Looking at the label you can see a few of the Flintstones Vitamin ingredient are warnings statements. So let's look at the ingredients in Flintstone vitamins.
Contains: Soy
†PHENYLKETONURICS: CONTAINS PHENYLALANINE

Aspertame

When you see †PHENYLKETONURICS: CONTAINS PHENYLALANINE then you know it has Aspertame in it. Aspertame is another word for Nutrasweet and it is a neurotoxin.

The Center for Science in the Public Interest feels so strongly about this, they filed a petition to the FDA requesting the clause, †PHENYLKETONURICS: CONTAINS PHENYLALANINE, be added to labeling,

Sorbitol

Sorbitol is used as a sweetening agent and used as a sugar substitute. The very FIRST ingredient in a children’s vitamin is a sweetener. Nursing mothers are advised to avoid Sorbitol while pregnant. It has a laxative effect and excessive amounts can cause bloating, flatulence, diarrhea, cramping and other abdominal problems. The severity of this problem for children is hotly debated.

"NOTICE: This product contains sorbitol, which may cause diarrhea, bloating, and abdominal pain. Not suitable for consumption by children. To protect yourself, start by eating no more than one serving at a time."

Maltodexrin

Is a very processed carbohydrate that has a higher glycemic index 185 than table sugar 68. It was spike a person's blood sugar faster than taking a spoonful of sugar. It has been linked to gastrointestinal side effects such as falatulence.

Mannitol

Mannitol is used as a sweetener in food. It’s also used to treat those with acute renal failure and kidney issues. It is very close in relation to Sorbitol. They are both sugar alcohol molecules.

Fructose

Fructose again another form of sugar. Glucose and Fructose are simple sugars. The body produces glucose, it is vital to life. Fructose is not. We do not produce fructose. Please read this article from Mercola “Sugar may be Bad, but Fructose is Far More Deadly

Carageenan

Carageenan this food additive has been a KNOWN  dangerous allergen since 1940, yet it’s still classified by the FDA as “safe for human consumption”? Yes, this is the same FDA that also approves MSG (linked to brain damage, obesity, and cancer), aspartame (linked to MS, seizures, memory issues, and blindness) and saccharine (linked to many cancers).

Natural & Artificial Flavors

Both artificial and natural flavors contain chemicals. The distinction between natural and artificial flavorings is the source of chemicals. Natural flavors are created from anything that can be eaten (i.e animals and vegetables), even if those edible things are processed in the lab to create flavorings.

Most artificial flavorings are derived from petroleum. They have been shown to affect the RNA, thyroid, and enzymes. Most have never even been studied for safety or toxicity. Take a look at the list of 49 ingredients that make up strawberry flavoring.

One artificial flavor that has been “outed” recently was diacetyl. A research study published in the journal Toxicological Sciences proved that the substance used to flavor popcorn causes a very dangerous lung disease called lymphocytic bronchiolitis.

Artificial Colors

Most artificial colors are made from coal tar, which is a carcinogen. According to Mercola, com, “Red #40 is the most-widely used and consumed dye. It may accelerate the appearance of immune system tumors in mice. It also causes hypersensitivity (allergy-like) reactions in some consumers and might trigger hyperactivity in children”. Mayoclinic.com also agrees that Red #40 and Yellow #6 may contribute to kids hyperactivity issues. As of July 2010, the European Union implemented warning labels with foods containing dyes.

Aspartame

Aspartame is another sweetener!  Aspartame is a synthetic combination of the amino acids aspartic acid and l-phenylalanine, and is known to convert into highly toxic methanol and formaldehyde in the body. Aspartame has been linked to over 40 adverse health effects in the biomedical literature, and has been shown to exhibit both neurotoxicity and carcinogenicity [1]

Are Flintstones Vitamins Healthier Today?

I wrote this article in 2017. It is 5 years later and Bayer has images claiming they have cleaned up their vitamins. Have they?Flintstones Vitamins for kids

They talk about what ingredients are Not in the Vitamins:

  • Artificial Flavors
  • Egg Allergens
  • Synthetic Colors
  • Soy Allergens
  • High Fructose Corn Syrup
  • Dairy (Milk) Allergen
  • No Fish / Crustacean Shellfish Allergens
  • Peanut & Tree Nut Allergens

We don't care what is not in it, we care about what is IN THE FLINTSTONES VITAMINS. Getting a list of ingredients telling us what is not in something is endless and pointless. So let's look at the new ingredients.

Flintstones Vitamins for adults

Today's Flintstones Vitamin Ingredients

Sorbitol

Mentioned above

Maltodextrin

Mentioned above

Mannitol

Mentioned above

Fructose

Impairs the composition of your blood lipids and causes non-alcoholic fatty liver. Fructose may also raise the levels of VLDL cholesterol, leading to fat accumulation around the organs and potentially heart disease.

Corn Starch

Corn starch is a highly processed corn product made from genetically modified organism (GMO) corn. It offers no nutritional value, and can cause digestive issues.

Modified Food Starch

Modified food starch is what "labelers" started printing on the labels of food and vitamins when people realized MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) was not good for them. But it is basically the same thing.

Sucralose

Sucralose is Splenda, which is an artificial sweetener that is a neurotoxin. Some studies have shown that sucralose can change your gut microbiome by lowering the number of good bacteria by half. Research done on animals shows that sucralose can also increase inflammation in the body.

Can adults take Flintstone vitamins?

While adults have larger bodies than children we still have the same biology. Adults taking Flintston vitamins is just as bad as children taking Flinstone vitamins. I would not recommend adult to take anything that is artificial or synthtic. Most vitamins on the market are made of artificial and synthetic components. You want to eat whole foods to get as much nutrition as possible in a balanced diet and there are whole food supplements that support the body much better than artificial and synthetic vitamins. You can find whole food supplements I recommend in my shop.

Should I take Flintstone vitamins for folic acid?

You can eat foods high in folic acid and so much better. Folate, folic acid, is the natural form of vitamin B9, water-soluble and naturally found in many foods such as dark green leafy vegetables (turnip greens, spinach, romaine lettuce, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, broccoli), beans, peanuts, sunflower seeds, fresh fruits, liver, seafood and eggs. You can find whole food supplements I recommend in my shop

Flintstones Gummies - Are they any better?

Flintstones VitaminsMost of the Flintstones Gummies Ingredients are sugar and water.

Here are the top 4 ingredients used in the Flintstones Gummies:

Glucose Syrup

It is pretty much corn syrup. Glucose syrup is made from the hydrolysis of starch. Meaning is a highly processed starch to make a sugar. It mostly comes from GMO corn.

Sugar

Water

Gelatin

Sounds like Jello.

A little history on Bayer

Bayer is a German pharmaceutical company founded in 1863. In 1925, it merged with IG Farben, a German chemical industry conglomerate, notorious for it’s roll in the Holocaust. It is stated that 100% of all explosives and of all synthetic gasoline came from the factories of IG Farben.

It is well documented that IG Farben was closely connected with the Nazis. During the Nazi takeover of Germany, IG Farben became involved in numerous war crimes. They collaborated with the Nazi Government to produce and patent large quantities of the pesticide Zyklon B, the chemical used to gas millions of Jews to death in gas chambers.

This is the very same company who is making your children’s vitamins.

I think it’s time we take a closer look and examine what we are giving to our children. All it takes is a little awareness to see what it going on around us. We are programmed to see these cute commercials with angelic children living fulfilling, happy lives as long as they take their vitamins. These commercials are meant to manipulate us to see what they want to see and hide what they don’t want us to see.

Just being aware can produce massive change in the world. Please don’t turn away and let this continue. We need to know what we are digesting and how it affects our health. These are HUGE powerful money hungry companies with very little interest in our health. The mere fact that the company responsible for the chemicals used in gas chambers is enough for me to never give them another dime.

One person CAN make a difference and our kid's health and lives are worth it!

Bottom Line

The chemicals in these vitamins are not only shocking but downright dangerous! Manufacturers, such as Bayer, often take the stance that the majority of children are not getting the recommended daily allowance of certain vitamins and minerals. They feel products such as Flintstones bridges that gap.

I beg to differ!

The chemicals and additives in these vitamins do more HARM to our little children’s bodies than GOOD. We must make our voices heard! I simply cannot comprehend why our Federal Government approved this product, but even worse, our family pediatricians and doctors recommend it. Thousands upon thousands of kids have taken these vitamins.

I urgently implore you to write to Bayer and let them know your child’s health is at risk by taking these vitamins!

Where to buy Better Vitamins & Supplements

While it is best to get your nutrients from food, today's food is lacking in nutrients from the soil and the way they are grown. Whole food organic vitamins are the best supplements you can take, so you can get more nutrition. While they don't taste like the sugar and chemically loaded Flintstones Vitamins, they are so much better for you. You can find supplements I recommend in my shop.
