Question For The Doctor - Chiropractic Visits for an Athlete

By: Dr. Sten Ekberg

Question for Dr. Ekberg:

I'm currently under Chiropractic care but the quality of care is slowly becoming less than desirable. I am a long distance runner doing 20-30 half marathons a year and a couple of marathons a year. I usually go about 2 times a week to my current chiropractor. Can you help? Thanks so much for your time & I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks.

Dr. Ekberg's answer:

We do things a little different than most chiropractors. We take a holistic approach by focusing on the whole body not just the neck and spine. A large part of our practice is something called Nutrition Response Testing. By correcting the underlying stress of the body: toxicity, deficiency, past trauma, scars, surgeries, and/or immune challenges the body doesn't need nearly as many adjustments. Even for an athlete you should not need to get adjusted twice a week. Probably more so every other week once the underlying problems are corrected.
