Health problems develop over time. Once there is a symptom of pain there has been an issue going on for several years (unless there was physical damage like if you were in an accident where there was a cut or broken bones).
Chiropractic like exercise usually doesn’t “fix” everything in one visit. No chiropractor can treat 10, 20, or 30+ years of pain or degeneration with one adjustment, although 99% of our patients do find significant relief after the first visit.
Optimal health and being pain free takes time. That why exercise, chiropractic, nutrition, and relieving stressors (chemical, emotional and physical stressors) is so important.
Our nervous system has set patterns and our bodies tend go back to those old patterns. That is why a lot of people will feel good for a few hours, days or weeks after seeing a chiropractor and the pain returns again. Chiropractic helps break those old patterns to set in new healthier patterns. Sometimes the brain clears up the first pattern and you will feel pain in another area. This is a good sign because that means the brain is processing, and you are one step closer toward health.
