Tattoos and Your Health

By: Dr. Sten Ekberg

Before you get a tattoo or another tattoo just know this...

Tattoos have metals that are injected into your body and stay around. They create a scar and probably have chemicals in the ink. All of these issues can affect your health.

Everything you add to your body is more for your body to process and for your liver to detox. It is called the body burden, from pollution to processed foods and everything else. Adding extra chemicals/metals/etc is adding a layer to what your body has to deal with already. Also your skin is where you sweat out a lot of toxins. Tattoos reduce the body's ability to sweat.

While you may believe you are fine this can affect your future health. Every time you add something that doesn't belong in the body you are making your body work harder which can decrease your health.
