Question For The Doctor - MTHFR and EBV

By: Dr. Sten Ekberg

Dr Ekberg was asked the following question...

Question:
Are you very familiar with MTHFR and underlying viruses like EBV?

Dr Ekberg's Answer:
The Methylene tetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) is a very common genetic variant that causes the build up of homocysteine which is highly inflammatory while at the same time causing a deficiency in glutathione which is the body's primary antioxidant. So you need to supplement B vitamins (not synthetic found stores) and reduce the exposure to toxins and allergens while also supporting the body's defenses. We can help with all of those areas. Similarly the best defense against virus such as Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) is to support the body's internal systems.
